Earth, wind and fire

April 8, 2015

When we get those first days of cool weather as the fall signals its arrival, its time to layer up gents. Earth tones are ideal for this season and this combination of muted earth tones is a classic ensemble with modern tailoring to make it contemporary. Luxury menswear store Harrolds is where you will find this ensemble of French/ Italo goodness. The shoes are from G&L Handmade shoes in Paddington. Happy humpday folks.

Tip: for my friends in the northern hemisphere exchange the knit for a crisp white shirt or a pastel to give the look a Spring feel.

Double Take

April 1, 2015

Double breasted Lardini navy blazer is a classic Italian staple, beautifully teamed up with Faconnable blush chinos and multi coloured check shirt, Harrolds silk pocket square and Prada antique finished loafers. Take this ensemble for a spin with the top down or out to lunch this weekend!

Tip: washed lime green chinos were a close second to the blush and look really fresh together.

Shaken not stirred

April 1, 2015

Fancy a beverage? I'd like a dry gin martini thanks.. Cocktail events can be tough to dress for. If you have a velvet blazer in your wardrobe, that will be the anchor to your ensemble. Paul Smith velvet blazer, Brent Wilson print shirt and trousers and my favourite Prada loafers.

Tip: if white trousers are a little too adventurous for you, give a black pair of trousers a spin, particularly for evening events.

Dark and stormy

March 30, 2015

Dark monochromatic looks like this one are brilliant for smart casual evening events. A dash of colour is all it takes in something like the pocket square to bring the outfit to life. Wil Valor bespoke blazer, AS Colour t-shirt, MJ Bale silk pocket square, Neuw denim jeans, Sportscraft canvas belt, Country Road socks and Loakes brogues.

Tip: when putting together a monochromatic look, just add a contrasting shoe to move away from the uniform look.

Sydney CBD Monday 30.03.15

March 29, 2015

Italian inspired ensemble for Monday in the city. All natural fibres are my preference and today its all cotton aside from the leather loafers. Wil Valor bespoke shirt and blazer, AS Colour chinos, Fane belt, Matthew Lawrence pocket square, G&L Handmade bespoke loafers.

Tip: A plain charcoal knit silk tie would be the perfect compliment if you need to wear one with this look.
