Fathers Day

There is nothing like the gift of giving, particularly when it's for someone so deserving. Great friends MJ Bale and Aquila kindly donated the kit and I donated my time and expertise to carry out this well deserved makeover for Channel 9 Mornings.

Tony Milburn is a single father working three jobs to make sure his son Hamish has the best start in life.

Losing his wife 10 years ago, Tony took on the duel parenting role, a responsibility that has seen him constantly putting his son above himself.

“About 10 years ago my mum passed away and my dad’s basically, since we’ve been living together, done whatever he can to provide for me, to make ends meet,” Hamish said of his father.

“He’s worked three jobs for me and he’s such a hard worker. He puts everyone else before his interests; he’s just such a good guy.”

While fathers around the country will be getting spoilt by their families this weekend Hamish enlisted the help of Mornings to celebrate Tony in the best way we know how – a fathers-day makeover.

Tony received the royal treatment from hair stylist Phil Gallo and Style guru Jeff Lack, who gave Tony a new deserved look.

Tony loved his new look saying it “was a change and “great” to be dressed and pampered by the best in the business".

“I seriously don’t recognise him, he looks unreal,” Hamish said of his dad’s new look.

“He’s just the best dad, he does everything for me. He never thinks of himself, everything’s got to be about someone else,” Hamish said.

Mornings surprised Tony with a few more gifts, including a lawnmower, a scooter, a coffee machine, sports apparel, skin care products and two tickets to AC/DC’s concert.
